How To Use the Scan Out Feature

Discover how to utilize the Scan Out feature to record a timestamp of when a ticket is scanned at the end of an event. This tool is often utilized for field trips and summer camps.

The Hometown Gate App allows administrators and event staff to seamlessly and securely scan fans into events, but you can also use the Gate App to scan fans out of events too! This way, you have a record of when guests entered and exited the event.

  1. Log in to the Gate App as normal. Find the event you’re scanning for from the Event List, and choose Scan Tickets. The camera will open automatically.

  2. If you are needing to Scan someone out of an event, click the Gear icon in the top right. Toggle the Scan Out Feature on.

  3. Now, any ticket you scan will be marked as Scanned Out. If you need to scan someone in again, simply toggle the Scan Out feature back to off. Each ticket can only be scanned in or scanned out once.

Pro Tip: To view the timestamps on when tickets were scanned in and out, you'll need to access the Attendee List from Reporting Center within the Box Office. Discover how to pull an Attendee List here.
