When can I get my money?
You can request your payout once your fundraiser reaches its end date. Payouts are not automatic. You'll need to go to the Payouts tab in your dashboard and submit a request.
Important: The payout option won't appear while your fundraiser is still live. If you don't see the Withdraw buttons, your fundraiser hasn't ended yet. You can check your end date under your fundraiser dashboard Overview tab.
Choosing how to get paid
Schoolfundr offers two payout methods. You'll choose one when you submit your request:
Stripe (direct deposit). Funds go straight to your bank account or debit card. This is the fastest option, typically arriving within 3–5 business days
Paper check. A check is mailed to your address via USPS. Expect delivery in 10-14 business days.
💡 Tip: If you need your funds quickly, Stripe is the way to go. Check payouts take significantly longer and there's no tracking number provided.
How to set up Stripe for direct deposit
If this is your first time requesting a Stripe payout, you'll need to connect your bank account:
Go to the Payouts tab in your dashboard (after your fundraiser has ended)
Click Get started with Stripe
Follow the prompts to enter your bank account or debit card details
Use the same email address you use for your Schoolfundr account. This will help you remember which account is connected to Stripe
Note: Stripe creates a separate account for you. If you need to update your personal details later (like your legal name, date of birth, or last 4 of your SSN), you can do that at connect.stripe.com/express_login.
Why is my available amount less than my total raised?
On the Payouts tab, you'll see two numbers: Total Raised and Available. The difference comes from Stripe's processing fees, which are applied to every online donation.
The fee is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. This is a standard payment processing fee charged by Stripe, not by Schoolfundr. The Schoolfundr platform itself is completely free.
Note: Choosing a paper check instead of Stripe does not avoid these fees. The processing fee is deducted when the donation is made, regardless of how you receive your payout.
Payout not going through?
My Stripe payout seems stuck
If your Stripe payout has been pending for more than 5 business days, Stripe may need additional information from you. This is the most common reason for delays. To fix it:
Click Profile in the bottom left corner
Click Edit for Personal Details
Update your legal name, date of birth, or last 4 of your SSN as needed
Click Save
Once your details are updated, contact our support team through chat or email so we can process your payout.
My check hasn't arrived
Paper checks are sent via USPS and typically take 10-14 business days to arrive. If it's been longer than 3 weeks, reach out through the chat on our website or email [email protected] and we'll work with our finance team to track it down or reissue it.
My payout is linked to the wrong group or account
If your payout appears connected to the wrong fundraiser or organization (for example, funds going to a different booster club at your school), contact our support team right away through chat or email. This requires manual correction on our end and your Fundraiser Expert can help sort it out.
FAQs
Why don't I see the "Get started with Stripe" button?
This button only appears if you haven't set up an account with Stripe yet. After connecting an account, the button disappears.
Can I get paid before my fundraiser ends?
No. Payouts can only be requested after your fundraiser's end date. If you need to end your fundraiser early, contact our support team through chat or email and they can help.
How long does a Stripe payout take?
Typically 3–5 business days after you submit the request. If Stripe needs additional information from you (like updated personal details), it may take longer until that's resolved.
How long does a paper check take?
Expect 10-14 business days from the date the check is processed. Checks are sent via USPS. There is no tracking number provided.
