Short answer: Contacts don't carry over automatically, but you can import your email contacts from previous fundraisers.
Why contacts don't transfer
Each fundraiser is a fresh campaign. Your contact list from a previous year stays linked to that old fundraiser and isn't automatically moved to a new one, but you will have the option to import them to the new campaign. This is actually useful, because it gives you the chance to review who you want to contact again before sending anything out.
How to reuse your previous contact list
If you uploaded contacts to a previous fundraiser, you will have the option to import them to new campaigns. You can also choose to import email contacts from your address books.
If you saved your contact list somewhere (a spreadsheet, notes app, email, or anywhere else), you can upload it again to your new fundraiser just like you did the first time. Go to the Emails tab in your participant dashboard and add your contacts.
š” Tip: Before uploading, take a few minutes to review your old list. Remove anyone who asked not to be contacted again, and add any new people you want to reach this year.
If you didn't save your list
If you didn't keep a copy of your previous contact list, you can check your previous campaign's contacts in your participant dashboard. This applies only to email contacts you have uploaded. Unfortunately, we cannot retrieve any text messages or social media outreach done outside of the platform.
FAQs
Is there still a 50-contact limit?
Yes. The 50-contact limit applies regardless of whether you're uploading a new list or reusing an old one.
Will my contacts get a duplicate email if they donated last year?
No. Previous donations don't affect how emails are sent this year. Each fundraiser is independent, so uploading a contact for a new fundraiser sends them a fresh outreach email for the new campaign.
